Step 8 : Pressure control

Step 8 : Pressure control
Pressure control is achieved by ‘dimming’ your pump. For example you can start your shot with 50% pressure ramping up in 10 seconds to 90% pressure.

Unfortunately in a Rancilio Silvia the NEUTRAL side of the pump and valve are switched with the same wire. To achieve individual control of the pump and valve we need to provide the valve permanent NEUTRAL.

This feature requires Preinfusion to be wired.

Remove the sheet of metal behind the brewhead exposing the valve. Remove the white wire from the valve. This wire remains not connected.
Use the long white wire from the set to connect this terminal to the NEUTRAL(black) upper left terminal of the power-button.
Use the long white wire from the set to connect this terminal to the NEUTRAL(black) lower left terminal of the brew-button.
For your type of machine this step is not required to enable and use pressure control.
If you feel it is getting too crowded with cables at the button-terminal, you can use the short green wire to offload some or all wires from this terminal.
Definition of success
When pressing the brew-button water flows from the group-head

You are able to tune the pressure-control settings
Step 7 : SteamingConfigurable temperature, faster response
Step 9 : TimerWake up and shut down your machine at specific times
