Step 9 : Timer

Step 9 : Timer
The timer allows your machine to heat up or cool down at specific times regardless of the state of power button.

To achieve this your meCoffee needs permanent power, the boiler needs permanent NEUTRAL and your meCoffee needs to be aware of the state of the power button.

meCoffee timer, connect hot side of power button to terminal #8

Move the red & green wires powering your meCoffee at the power button from the upper switched terminals to the corresponding lower permanent terminals :

Fetch the short green wire from the set and fit it on the lower left terminal of your power button, combined with the wire originally fitted on this terminal.

Remove the switched NEUTRAL(black + green) wires from the upper left terminal of your power button and connect it to the male side of the short green wire. The upper left terminal of your power button remains unconnected.

Your meCoffee and Silvia now have permanent NEUTRAL.

Now remove the meCoffee + Silvia red wires from the upper right terminal of your power button and separate them. Fit your meCoffee red wire on the lower right terminal, combined with the wire orginally fitted on this terminal.

Your meCoffee now has permanent LIVE.

Fetch a black wire from the set and fit it onto the upper right terminal combined with your Silvia red wire. Connect the female side of the black wire to terminal #8 of your meCoffee.

Your meCoffee is now aware of the state of your power button.

Connect the power button

Remove the red wire from the lower terminal of the power button. Connect this terminal to meCoffee#8 with a black female-piggyback. The original red wire remains disconnected.

Now turn your machine on and connect meBarista to your meCoffee. Go into meBarista#Hardware and check Flipping power button / V5.

Check in meBarista if the boiler power drops to zero as soon as you flip the power switch. The boiler power should come back up if you flip the switch again.

Only proceed with next section if you have confirmed the power switch to be working.

Bypass the built-in 30 minute shutdown timer

Remove the back cover. Remove the black inner back plate.

Unplug the blue wire from terminal 9 and the red wire from terminal 10 of the timer module.

Connect the blue wire from terminal 9 and the red wire from terminal 10 with the short green male-to-male wire from the set. Put the green wire through the cable tree to keep it bundled.

Fit the black inner plate. Fit the back cover.

Locate the power button of your machine, this is the leftmost button.

Remove the blue wire from the middle terminal of the power button and combine it with the black wire.

Mount the combined wires on the middle terminal of the power button.

At the power button, move the green and red meCoffee wires to the bottom terminals. Connect the black meCoffee cable to the upper terminal at the red side.

To prevent your machine heating up when plugging in the mains or in case of a power failure, go to the timer settings in meBarista and check Installed as a timer. This will prevent the machine from heating up on a cold boot.

Definition of success
The green light at your power button does not respond to the power button and is now always off

You can connect to your meCoffee regardless of the state of the power button

The power button turns the boiler on and off

Step 8 : Pressure controlRamp pressure up or down during your shot
Step 10 : Wrapping upFinalize installation, close your machine
